MURRAY FALLS, GIRRAMAY COUNTRY

001. Murray Falls, on Girramay Country, just north of Cardwell in Far North Queensland is one of my favourite places to camp and spend time whenever passing nearby. A few reasons it is one of my favourite places… lots spots to cool off in the creek + lay in the sun on hot rocks, a hiking trail through rainforest + open forest bushland to the lookout (possibly seeing a cassowary on the way), and a huge open camping area towering with eucalyptus, run by national parks complete with campfires, toilets + even a cold shower- all for the friendly Queensland National Parks price of $7 a night.

002. After spending the best part of the last three years up in the far north, I’ve decided to work on a downloadable ebook travel guide up-the-qld-coast-of-sorts. Combining my knowledge of driving this route fairly regularly for the past couple years, a hell of a lot of 35mm travel photos + wanting to share parts of this beautiful country which may often be overlooked while driving the 24-hours-of-Bruce-Highway up the coastline. It’s a work in progress at the very early stages, but I’m excited to share more soon !
