001. Putting this post here as a little reminder to myself to organise a hiking trip to Hinchinbrook, to do the Thorsborne Trail Trek. Hinchinbrook is Australia’s largest island national park and is located in Tropical North Queensland, towards the southern end of the Great Barrier Reef. The Thorsborne Trail is a 32km multi-day trek, passing through tropical beaches, rainforest, mountains, waterfalls and bushland.

002. Hinchinbrook Island is a National Park and permits must be obtained via QLD Parks. Only 40 hikers are permitted to be on the island at one time, so bookings in advance are highly recommended for peak season during winter months.

003. These photos make me feel like I am looking at a jungle island like Jurassic Park and were taken on 35mm film at the lookout point on the side of the highway passing through the area. Hiking and exploring new parts of nature in my home country make me very excited, and I can’t wait for the opportunity to explore this island on my next adventure when I pass.
