MULTI-DAY HIKING FOOD IDEAS
001. One of my goals for 2026 is to spend more time hiking, with the intention of building up to multi-day trips. As someone who’s sensitive in the digestion and food department, this part needed a bit more thought. I wanted to feel confident about what I’d be carrying and eating over a few days. Naturally, I ended up down a research rabbit hole - videos, blogs and a lot of time spent scrolling supermarket websites to see what’s actually available here in Australia. Along the way, I started keeping note of options that felt realistic. Foods that are easy to find, simple and that I know work well for me.
002. The result is this “aussie wholefood-ish hiking food ideas guide.” It focuses on foods widely available in Australia, mostly low or no gluten and with dairy-free options (ya girl is sensitive). Also, more for the intention of multi-day hiking, hence a lot of lightweight items. It’s not perfect just a practical starting point. Something I can come back to when planning trips and maybe something that’s useful for others too!
003. This format looks a little strange on a blog, but I thought I would just roll with it. I actually designed it for social and will post it over on @wombattracks, my account where I mostly post film form my travels around Aus - but am going to try expand out a little with sharing more this year. Community is everything - even if assisted by wifi and a screen.
